Kramar House Under the Poplars by the Train Tracks and Cow Field

Sunday, 2 November 2003 · Leave a Comment

Here’s the front of our house in Datchet. We live right under the flight path for Heathrow, and right next to a railroad track. We have lots of lovely background noises to accompany our day to day activities. Some days the planes take off over the house and the noise is not too loud. Other days they are landing directly over the house and they make quite a racket. One comes by every one to three minutes during the day. The train goes by every fifteen minutes during the “rush hours”. Fortunately, there are virtually no planes or trains from midnight until six in the morning. We have grown accustomed to the sounds though and I find them to be comforting in some ways.
